Actually, Mario might be a plumber, but he is pretty much an adventurer on the Super Mario Bros games. They had a Doctor Mario spinoff game and then there was the Mario&Sonic Olympic game, so that makes it adventurer, doctor and olympic athlete.

God, that's just so fuckin' mean.

You guys are all taking this WAY too seriously. The whole point of this comic strip is to point out the fact that Luigi is the worse-off half of the Mario Bros. I mean, for the love of god, just read the title.

Worse-off half ? Luigi is better than Mario. Luigi can jump higher, float while doing so, he runs faster, got more health. "It sucks to be Weegie" is only what Luigi thinks of himself. And since he has no self-esteem, well, everyone perceives him as a failure.

He's also less coordinated, less brave, has slower reflexes/reaction time and is physically weaker than his stouter brother. He probably only has more health because he's built up a tolerance for pain due his inability to dodge attacks as well as Mario.

He's not better than Mario. It's just that his strengths are easier to spot. Mario hones his skills in a way that makes him a well rounded fighter with a little bit of everything. Luigi just has luck on his side. He clearly spends more time brooding over his second banana status than he does refining his skills.

Why does pity or love for Weegie always turn into hatred or mockery of Mario? Am I the only one who sees this happening all over the place?

Luigi is a clone of Mario. Even his ability to "jump higher" and "float while doing so" is a copy of off Yoshi's Flutter Jump. As for speed and health, I have no clue where you got that idea from. And, as for that last statement, he has no self esteem BECAUSE he's a failure.

I wouldn't say he's worse than Mario. You know, he's more inteligent, what explain his bigger abilities while using both magic and machine, he jumps higher, as have already being said, he knows how to fight karate (=p), he's better both in defense and in health (as we can see in all the Mario & Luigi RPG Games), as well as his mustache is better (=p), he have more personality (this we can't ignore, it's just pure truth, and it's something that I really miss on Mario, he just seems to be so plain and simple! =\), and he's better while attacking in the air (something from the SSBB series).

But that doesn't mean that Mario doesn't have his good abilities too! He's more stable, to compensate for his jump, he's stronger, more agile, have a better solo game than Luigi, he's also corageous, and has a princess to save. (=p)
Yeah, Luigi have Daisy, but Miyamoto never tried to do a game of "Luigi rescues Daisy", soooooo...

All in all, they two have both weaknessess and strengths, and they stopped being a clone much time ago! It's impossible to say who's better, they're twins that divided their power and personality, I think. So, they're equal!

And I don't know if anyone noticed this yet, but Mario never appeared in these comics, you know why? 'Cause there's really no space for Mario here, not at all! These comics were reserved for Luigi, and to show this humorous/sad side of him, to make we laugh, but that doesn't mean that it's a comic to show that Luigi is the worse-half, that's just the most ignorant thing to say. Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. People these days need to learn Philosofy. (;-D)

But if anyone want to question, who I prefer... That's not the way to begin with...

I totally agree. I also believe that Luigi's flaws are what make him a powerful and relatable character. In Luigi's Mansion, he was afraid to tackle a house of ghost(who wouldn't) however, he still does it to rescue his brother. Also, I believe that his poor traction and high jumping bring a new level of challenge to Mario games.

As for the comic itself, I found it humorous, depressing, and kinda predictable all at the same time.

First: He doesn't have more intel. Once again, there's nothing showing that. Mario uses machines and magic, too. The DEF and HP stats depend on what you upgrade as you level up, so there's no proof on that. Karate? No. Mustache isn't better, his personality sucks, and Luigi falls on his head after doing his Up-B.

I'll respond to the other paragraphs when I get back from school.

Well... I say that he have more inteligence, based on his greater power upon magic, when compared to Mario. And he has a Factory, what means he's better with machines, as Mario's better as a Medic (=p). About the mustache, when I say his one's better, I base it on the "Mario & Luigi Series", where Luigi have much more points on the mustache stat (that also control co-op moves). The Def depends on your luck, really, but taking out the luck, Luigi have better MP, Def and Mustche, when Mario have more power on HP, Strength and Agility. Yeah, it's proven that he fights Karate on the SSB series. Luigi falls on his head when doing the Fire Jump Punch to show his clumsy personality, but even, it's one of the strongest moves of the game, and demonstrates a little about Luigi's firepower.

Something that I really like on Luigi, is his power over electricity. It's a power that belongs only to him, and serves as proof of his better magical abilities.

But I'm not doing this to defend him, I'm only trying to cover what I consider holes in your opinion about him. You know... You depicted him like if he was the worst character on the universe of videogames! (O_o)

You're already sick of hearing people whimpering about what happens to Luigi in this comic, that's nothing more nor less than a comic to show this clumsy/dumb side of him. (=p)
But I don't only see it like this. I too see it as a way to show how he endure and overcome all of those hardships. (XD)

Just remembered to reply to the other paragraphs; but I see now that they're not defending Luigi, so I'll just skip to the last one.

Mario not being in the comics is part of the joke. You probably didn't notice, but in the comic where Luigi's giving Peach a check-up, the poster in the background says "Mario will never appear in this comic" or something like that. Then they make the "No Mario" joke again with the Mallow comic.

Despite what you may think, I'm not a Luigi hater. I like him to a certain degree, it's just when people start going "aww! Poor weegee! I'm taking this fancomic that was made for the sole purpose of poking fun at Luigi extremely seriously and am posting comics about beating up his parents because of that!" that I get pissed off. I mean, Luigi got his fans because he's a coward and weakling. If he was this great big superman plumber hero, then he wouldn't have any of the fan he has now, because they only like him because he's a coward.

Hate to put on my "Actually Squad" shirt here, but Luigi's flutter jump originated in Super Mario Bros 2 which came out almost 3 years before Yoshi even made his first appearance in Super Mario World.

I actually think Luigi and Daisy's (real game selves, not their comic selves) personalities balance each other out, since Luigi is kind of timid while Daisy is more in your face lol and I don't think Luigi will ever need to save Daisy since she can hold her own (Mario Party 3, where Daisy smacks Bowser into the sky)
