No backstory is right. At least Wario struck out on his own with treasure hunting. WaLuigi's only been used to fluff up the roster in games like Mario Kart, Mario Tennis. You can't even use him as player 2 in Wario's games!

Did you guys know Waluigi isn't even related to Wario?

I figured he was a warped clone of Luigi like Wario was of Mario. Thus they would share more genes with the original than the clone brother.

When I look at Waluigi in this strip, for some reason I keep imagining the voice of Beavis when he talks.

Probably helps that that's kinda what he sounds like in the games. Imagine a higher pitched Wario, that's pretty much Waluigi.

Well, the guy who does the voice for Wario IS also the voice for Waluigi... Heck, the guy is the voice for most of the male Mario characters! It's the guy that does MARIO!!! (totally loving being a chuggaaconroy fan right now, since I found this out from him. lol)
